Do I need any experience in front of a camera?
No, and I would almost say it is better without. Most of the people I photograph have never done this before, and it shows in the best possible way: nothing is rehearsed. I guide every pose and every expression, and I take care of the light. Your only job is to show up as you are.
I am not a model and I am not twenty any more. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I photograph very few models; I photograph people, and light does not care about age or size. Most of the people who write to me have been thinking about it for years, waiting to be thinner, fitter or younger. That day never comes. Now is the perfect time.
How long does a session last?
Long enough to forget the camera. Count about 1.5 to 2 hours for a portrait and 2 to 3 hours for a boudoir or nude session, with time to settle in, change and take breaks. I never book another session before or after yours, so nobody is watching the clock. Longer sessions are entirely possible: a full day, or a project spread over several days, if the idea calls for it.
Where do we shoot?
Wherever the light is right for the picture we have in mind: a studio, your home, or outdoors in Nice and along the French Riviera, where I learned light. I also travel elsewhere in France and abroad; if you have a place in mind, tell me about it.
What should I bring?
Whatever makes you feel like yourself. We decide on the wardrobe together before the session, and a few well-chosen pieces are usually enough: plain fabrics and textures photograph better than logos and patterns. For boudoir and nude sessions, we talk about what you are comfortable with at the same time. Nothing is left implicit.
Do I need hair and make-up?
No. Most sessions are made with your own hair and very little make-up, because I want the picture to look like you, and light does most of the work. If you would enjoy being made up for the occasion, it is entirely possible: tell me, and we plan it into the session.
Can someone come with me?
Yes. A friend is welcome if it helps you feel at ease, and some people bring one for their first session. By the second, they usually come alone.
How does a nude or boudoir session actually work?
Your limits come first. We define them before the day, from suggested to full nude, and I never go beyond them. On the day we take our time; you can stop, pause or say no at any moment, without explanation. The set is closed: only you, me and the person you may have brought. There is always a moment when you stop thinking about the camera and start enjoying yourself. That is when the best photographs are made.
Can I suggest ideas during the session?
Please do. We prepare a lot, but the preparation does not lock anything in. If an idea comes to you on the day, say it. We look at each other, we say “Come on, let’s do it!”, and we try it right away. Some of my best photographs were made that way.
Do you take on unusual or very personal projects?
Yes, and they are often the ones I enjoy most. My “Newspaper” series was born from an odd idea: women reading newspapers in places and outfits that have nothing to do with each other. So if your idea is strange, very different, or bolder than what you see in the galleries, tell me about it. We talk it through, we set the frame together, and if it makes sense to both of us, we do it.
Film or digital?
I love this question. Both live in my bag. A prepared image often calls for a professional digital camera and studio lights; an improvised one is usually happier with a simple film camera. One or the other, or even both in the same session. We choose according to the picture we are after, and if you have a preference, say it.
What gear do you use?
The best Canon has to offer, because skin and light deserve it. A Canon EOS R5 Mark II, with L-series lenses only: 15-35mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.2, 85mm f/1.2 and 100mm f/2.8 Macro. For the light, Elinchrom flashes and softboxes. And for the improvised days, a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm f/1.4, a 35mm f/2 and a 28mm f/2.8, the simple film camera that never leaves the bag. All of it has the same job: to capture the moment, the story and the emotion.
How do I get my photos?
A few days after the session, you receive a link to a private, password-protected gallery to choose your favourites. This is my favourite part of your side of the story: seeing yourself differently. Once your selection is made, I retouch the images by hand, with a natural approach, and deliver them in the same gallery in high resolution.
How many photos will I receive, and when?
Within two or three days of the session, your private gallery is online and you choose your favourites from it. The number of finished photographs is open to discussion and depends mostly on the length of the session. We agree on it beforehand, so there is no surprise.
Do you retouch the photos?
Yes, by hand and with a light touch. I work on the light and the skin, and I remove what will be gone next week anyway: a spot, a speck of dust, a stray hair. I do not remove what makes your body yours, such as a beauty mark, a birthmark or a scar, and I do not reshape silhouettes. If you ask me to, we talk about it and I can do it, but the starting point is always you, as you are. That is the whole idea: celebrating the body, not correcting it.
Do you use AI?
No. Every photograph you see here was made with a camera, light and a person in front of it, and every retouch is done by hand. No generated images, no face borrowed from an algorithm. Art must remain human, and so must a portrait of you.
Will my photos be published?
Only if you want them to be. The use of your images is governed by the image-rights agreement we sign together before the session, and we talk it through so that nothing is left implicit. Many sessions remain entirely private, and that is perfectly fine with me.
Can I share my photos with the people I choose?
Yes, and you do it yourself. Once your photographs are delivered, you can create your own private galleries from your customer space on this site: you pick the photos, give the gallery a name and a password of its own, and send the link to whoever you like. You can make one gallery per session, or gather several sessions into a single one and use it as your book. Each gallery can be paused or deleted at any time, and only you decide who sees it.
How much does a session cost?
I do not publish prices, because no two sessions are alike: the length, the place and the project all count. Tell me about your idea and I will give you a clear answer. And I am genuinely open to collaborations: when a project speaks to both of us, we make it together at no cost, and we each use the photographs within the agreement we sign.
How do I book?
Send me a message on Instagram or through the contact page, even if the idea is still vague. The hardest part is daring to write; almost everyone tells me so afterwards. We take it from there.
